Kinetic Letters

Why Kinetic Letters?

Kinetic Letters is the handwriting scheme we use because it develops strong, confident writers by building both physical readiness and key handwriting skills. The programme focuses on strengthening core muscles, improving posture, and developing fine motor control, all of which are essential foundations for neat, fluent handwriting.

Through consistent practice, children learn correct letter formation, pencil grip, and writing movements in a structured and engaging way. This approach supports children in becoming more comfortable and efficient when writing, which in turn helps them across the wider curriculum.

We have a dedicated 20-minute Kinetic Letters session every day after lunch From Reception to Year 6. This daily routine provides regular reinforcement and allows children to steadily build their skills over time. We have already seen a clear positive impact on handwriting confidence, letter formation, and overall writing stamina.
