Class 1

Hello and welcome to Class One’s page! Our class is a mixture of Reception and Year One. Mrs Brooke-Mawson teaches the Year One children in the mornings and we work as a whole class in the afternoons.

Our class teacher is called Mrs Wilman. We have some of our lessons with Mrs Norton on a Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Mrs Pickard, Mrs Judson and Mrs Ryder also help us with our learning.

We have PE lessons with a specialist PE coach on a Monday and Thursday afternoons and we must remember to have our PE kits in school for these days.

Reception children will be sent ‘Help at Home’ activities weekly on a Thursday. These are designed to help us with some of the things that we have covered in school that week. We will also have a reading book sent home every day and we should aim to read at least four times a week and ask an adult to record this in our Reading Log. We have a reading chart in our class and the person who has read the most gets a special sticker in our Well Done Assembly on a Friday!

Year One children need to read as much as possible at home and to practise their phonics in preparation for the Phonics Check in June 2017.

Look out for our class newsletters which will be sent out each Half Term with details about our topics and what we will cover in each subject area.

Please feel free to pop in and speak to Mrs Wilman if you have any questions or comments about Class 1!
